Acción con Clave

Initiator and bandleader Frank Dijkstra lived and worked in South America for 13 years as a pianist and arranger after completing his conservatory studies. He has contributed most of the repertoire and given direction to the band so far. The arrangements have been developed and adapted for and by the members of Acción con Clave. Their own repertoire is still being developed in line with the current repertoire.

Most of the band members are already well-known in the Dutch Latin scene and beyond. All have been professionally active in music for years and play in the most well-known salsa ensembles in the Netherlands. The fusion of cultures, particularly from the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles, Colombia, and Venezuela, is reflected in the repertoire.

Acción con Clave plays salsa, timba and son from Cuba and Puerto Rico, as well as other South American music influences, such as Merengue, Bachata from the Dominican Republic.
